Shining a light on Birmingham

McCann Central has been selected by McCann Worldgroup (MWG) as one of five agencies across the globe to participate in the first ‘MWG Spotlight Week’.

Running from 11th – 15th December, the week is an initiative emerging from MWG’s recently launched global diversity coalition.

It comprises a cultural awareness campaign that will spotlight five different cities around the world and will explore the perspectives of MWG staff when it comes to their views about diversity and culture.

During the week, McCann Central employees will be asked to showcase and celebrate the diversity of cultures for which Birmingham is famous. They will take over MWG’s social media channels and share with McCanners worldwide how Birmingham’s diversity and creativity reveals itself, both in the city and in the office.

Our CEO, Dean Lovett, who will be contributing his individual viewpoint on the day, says: “It’s a great honour to be asked to represent the UK when it comes to this important initiative. Birmingham is a fantastically vibrant city and a brilliant example of cultural diversity in action.
“I'm sure our staff will enthusiastically share their views about the importance of diversity and wish to present our city in the best possible light, alongside the other four global cities asked to participate in the inaugural MWG Spotlight Week.”

The other MWG offices taking part are: Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Bangkok, Thailand; Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Santiago, Chile.
